Boston Public Library (120mm)

The library offers a place for people to explore their mental space by putting emphasis on embarking concentration and curiosity from those inhabiting the place. Enabling this individuality of the user experience is that libraries are quiet and are specifically not meant to be treated as a social place; thus, those in attendance are often lost in their own spaces while also being present in the physical place.

Because they’re public, associated with early education, and are often centrally located, many have a personal experience with a public library. Libraries aren’t just places that carry books; they’re places that cultivate a feeling of focus, inspiration, and internal concentration. This photo project aims to explore such a space.
